About The Big Read

Quincy Public Library is pleased to offer The Big Read in September and October, 2013.

The Big Read will focus on the book "True Grit" by Charles Portis. Quincy Public Library will give away copies of the book and will offer a variety of events and activities for adults and teens.

The Big Read kick off event, free and open to the public, will be held Thursday, September 12 at Clat Adams Park on Quincy's Riverfront from 11 am - 1 pm. We'll be giving away copies of the book, in both print and digital formats. Enjoy a light lunch. Local historian Iris Nelson will provide the keynote address and the Quincy Notre Dame marching band will perform.

Quincy Public Library's Big Read is truly a community event - from the teachers and educators who helped select the book - to the local businesses whose donations support all The Big Read activities. Thanks to all! Join us as we read and discuss this thought-provoking book.

Many thanks to these generous sponsors:
