A Soap Making Workshop
 Most of us buy our soap at the grocery store or the mall, but if you lived in Lincoln's time, you probably had to make your own soap. In our Looking for Lincoln series, the Quincy Public Library is offering The Lye to Fat Table: a Soap Making Workshop on Saturday, January 19 th at 1 p.m. in the 2 nd Floor Meeting Room. From beginners to seasoned soap makers, this workshop has something for everyone! We cover everything from basic soap making recipes to more complex scent adding techniques. Audrey Whitnell, from Newark Missouri, will be here to answer all your soap making questions. Participants will take home homemade soap they made themselves. Find out why soap making can be so rewarding at this hands-on workshop.

Bring-a-Friend TAB Month
 The New Year is right around the corner and the Quincy Public Library Teen Advisory Board is looking for new membership. January is traditionally Bring-a-Friend to TAB month and local area teens are invited to drop by the library and check out the Teen Advisory Board meeting on Wednesday, January 9, at 4 p.m. in the 2 nd Floor Meeting Room. The library teen board helps designed Teen Programming, assists with collection development, works on volunteer projects and has a lively book discussion group that meets immediately after the TAB meeting. When you join the Teen Advisory Board you get to share your opinions, make decisions concerning the Library, and meet new friends in a dynamic and innovative setting. As a board member, you also get to participate in fun events such as the Summer Reading Program, Blues in the Park, the Dogwood Parade and Riverfest. So, if you want your voice to be heard grab and friend and check us out!
