GET READY FOR THE BIG READ!!!!
Over 200 Quincy Area teens will receive free copies of the book, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, thanks to a generous donation from the Quincy Service League and Great Debate Books. Teens who take the BIG READ challenge can compete to Win a Flip video camera by submitting an entry in the Bookflix video contest.
To enter, teens must develop a two-minute video trailer about The Great Gatsby using excerpts from the book—usually the most exciting, funny, or otherwise noteworthy parts—to convince their audience to read the book without “spoiling” the ending…just like a movie trailer does for films. These videos will be viewed by judges from WGEM and posted online for audience voting. The winning contestant will receive a Flip video camera courtesy of Wal-Mart. This contest is for Quincy area teens grades 9th through 12th. The winner will be announced at All that Jazz: The Final Party on October 8th.
