Children’s iPads, for use inside the library building, will now be available at Quincy Public Library.
The iPads have been preloaded with a collection of family-friendly apps for children to use, including Temple Run, Star Wars, Minecraft, and Cut the Rope.
“Offering the iPads for children to use allows them to build digital literacy skills,” explained Children’s Librarian Judy Decker. “Children will be able to become familiar with the devices, while enjoying some of the most popular educational apps available.”
Library patrons may check out an iPad with headphones from the Children’s Department desk for use while within the library building. A current and active QPL Library card is required for checkout. Users must be between 10 and 12 years old.
Purchase of the iPads was made possible by funds from the Mary Weems Barton Quincy Public Library Foundation, and its individual and business donors.
For more information on the children’s iPads, stop at the Children’s Department reference desk or call QPL at 223-1309, ext. 220.
