Quincy Public Library is excited to offer ongoing reading challenges with Beanstack! The more you read, the more chances you have to win prizes from the library! These challenges are offered year-round, for all ages. Patrons can visit quincylibrary.beanstack.com or download the Beanstack Tracker App and search for Quincy Public Library to get started today!
Readers of all ages can register in seconds as individuals or a family. Beanstack makes it easy for them to earn virtual badges, tickets for drawings, and real-world prizes by keeping track of their reading. Readers can also post book reviews and keep track of activities they complete along the way. The Beanstack Tracker App is like a fitbit for reading. It lets patrons time reading sessions, log books by scanning their ISBN numbers, keep a log of current and past reading, track daily reading stats, and achieve streaks for reading multiple days in a row.
Reading has been proven to reduce stress and improve memory, concentration, and focus. Children who read do better in school and get higher test scores in all subjects. QPL encourages reading for the whole family, because we know kids emulate what their parents are doing.
From Sunnydale to Wakanda, the world of the graphic novel takes us to rich and imaginative landscapes as we explore the crossroads of visuals and words. Though frequently used for fantasy and sci-fi, authors and illustrators also employ the format to explore our own reality. Quincy Public Library challenges teens to explore our vibrant world by picking up a Graphic Novel this fall. Teens are invited to participate in this reading challenge! When you finish the challenge, come into the library to redeem a $5 gift card at the Reference Desk! Prizes must be redeemed by Nov. 7.
Stop by the Quincy Public Library and browse our graphic novel collection. There’s a wide variety of both subject matter and illustration style, and an in-person visit may lead you down any number of beautiful and unexpected paths. Teens take the challenge today!
Five to Try is a challenge that asks you to read a book in each of 5 categories, keep track of your reading, and share your favorite discoveries with the library and your fellow readers. Come into the library and redeem your prize from the Reference Desk or Children’s Desk before Nov. 21.
