Reading aloud to children helps them learn, not just words and stories, but also critical thinking skills. Quincy Public Library serves as a community resource for parents, caregivers, and educators seeking information and material to help children learn to read. Join a story time or consult with QPL’s Children’s Librarian for age-appropriate books and materials to borrow.
QPL’s Children’s department offers dedicated children’s computers, iPads for older children, lego tables, puzzles, puppets and a school house for play, all selected to help children develop pre-reading skills in a welcoming environment.
QPL’s selection of age-appropriate books, movies, and dvds includes award-winners and family favorites including fiction and non-fiction material.
