DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Maintain accurate profiles for Outreach program patrons. Support the daily functions of the Outreach department. Perform circulation duties, including shelving, material handling, and assisting patrons. Provide readers’ advisory and reference assistance, with support from librarians as needed. Instruct patrons on the use of library materials and equipment. Select and deliver library materials to individual patrons, senior living facilities, and schools. Maintain detailed records of all requested and delivered materials. Recommend and purchase large print books and other materials for the collection. Perform collection development duties for the large print collection. Develop and maintain relationships with activity directors and relevant staff at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and senior housing communities. Conduct lobby stops at senior living facilities to enthusiastically present programming for residents. Drive the Mobile Library and perform circulation duties at scheduled community stops. Assist with story times and other programming at daycare and outreach stops as needed. Serve on committees and participate in departmental initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. A minimum of two years of library or related experience preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. The ability to routinely lift, push, and move up to 50 pounds is required. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required. Must obtain a Class C non-CDL driver’s license to operate the Mobile Library, with training provided by the library. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
RATE OF PAY: $18.71 per hour
HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours a week, days including evenings and weekends.
