National Soup Month

Did you know that January is National Soup Month? The Quincy Public Library has a display up for it in the AV area, with some fun books featuring soups of all sorts of varieties & cookbooks to collect recipes and/or inspiration from. But have no fear - QPL also has some ideas for you here.

If you are looking for inspiration, there are all sorts of books titled quite simply Soup:
1) Soup
2) Soup
3) Soup
4) Soup

Well, I think you get the idea there. But there are other options as well, such as - Every Season is Soup Season, Bone Deep Broth, Is It Soup Yet?, & Nourish Soups.

If you are looking for something to warm your soul without actually going through the trouble of making soup, the Quincy Public Library has access to fun reads featuring all of the soups.
We have some rather nice children's books that talk about soup - like Cathy Goldberg Fishman's Soup, Freedom Soup by Tammi Charles, Rainbow Soup by Brian P. Cleary, & Marcia Brown's Stone Soup.
The teens might like - Granny Makes Tortilla Soup by Sharon Creech, Soup by Robert Newton Peck, Soup Moon Soup by Linday Lee Johnson, & Broken Soup by Jenny Valentine.
And not to forget the adults - Gumbo Life: Tales from the Roux Bayou by Ken Wells, Chili con Carnage by Kylie Logan, Hot Stew by Fiona Mozley, & Pomegranate Soup by Marsh Mehran.

Added bonus that these are just books, so you will not have to worry about busting your diet so soon in 2026.
