New Programs are Blooming!

QPL staff did not spend the winter months just cozied up with sweet treats and good reads. (Although, we definitely did that too). No, we were thinking up brand new programs to bring to our patrons!  Let's take a look at what's coming up:

New Book Clubs
Two new book clubs are joining the QPL lineup, one starting in April and one in May.

In April, get ready to move with the #bookwalk Audiobook Walking Book Club. This book club is for people who want to move more, read more, and connect more. Every second Saturday, a group will meet in Washington Park at the John Wood statue to take a few laps around the park. Everyone is welcome to listen to their own book, using their favorite book delivery system (we have some suggestions). The group will chat before and after the walk to swap book ideas and reviews. This group is intended for every mobility level, so come on out and give it a try!

Want to join a book club, but don't like being told what to read? Then Bring Your Own Book Club is for you. Starting on May 2nd, share thoughts on whatever book you have read! It could even be something you picked up years ago but have never gotten the chance to discuss until now. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere of readers building community one random book at a time.

New Programs
If book clubs aren't your thing, there are new monthly programs coming to the library as well.

Did You Know? PowerPoint Party is a program where you get to be the leader! Every month, people will gather to present their favorite factoids or latest hyperfixations. The audience will hopefully get to learn something new and maybe walk away with an idea for a presentation of their own. A gathering for nerds and nerd fans alike!

Emo Afternoons are for crafters who have a lot of feelings. Or just big fans of 'My Chemical Romance.' Take a load off on a Saturday afternoon and get your granny hobby on. Whether it's the knitting you bring from home, or a trinket jar you make from provided materials, there is something at the table for everyone.

Remember at school when you could bring something for show'n'tell? Why not do that as an adult at The Show & Tell of Shiny Things this year? Bring your rock, button, or sticker collection. If you want to show it and tell us about it, then we want to see it and hear about it! A library is a collection of stories after all, and every object we hold dear has a story to tell.

We have all our normal books clubs and programs as well that you can find on the calendar. Of course, the Mobile Library is making the rounds as well. There is never a shortage of something to do with QPL; we hope to see you at an event soon!
