When the temperatures rise, everybody knows it's time for the Summer Reading Program! This year's theme is "Level Up at Your Library!" Level up your game knowledge, your craft skills, and most importantly your reading time!
If you're not familiar, the Summer Reading Program is a reading challenge for all ages that lasts through June and July. The program started as a way to keep children engaged in reading and to prevent knowledge loss over the summer. But it has grown to include all ages from 6 months to 106 years old. We can all read more and here's a perfect time to get started. Plus, you win prizes for reading and that makes me, someone who grew up with the Book-It program, very happy.
Grab a book for you, your teen nephew, your child and join the challenge this summer! We kick things off on May 31st from 9-12 for a day of fun and games. Then keep track on the Beanstack app and claim your prizes throughout the summer. At the end of the challenge, on July 31st, come back to the library for our Book It and Beer celebration. The grand prizes will be chosen and adults who have earned a free pizza can pick it up at the same time. Win or lose, it's going to be a great bookend to the summer challenge!
