Spring Holiday Closures

Quincy Public Library will be closing at 1:00PM on Friday, April 18th and closed all day on Saturday, April 19th.

The Wheels on the Mobile Library Go 'Round!

After 22 years, Quincy will have a mobile library again! Library services are vital to the community and that's why we want to bring them out to more people.

"We're excited to get to offer this opportunity for people in the community who might not have the time or the means to make it to the brick-and-mortar building," said Gina Miller, Outreach Team Lead. The mobile library will provide books, obviously. But it will also be loaded with iPads, laptops, and mobile printing. Need internet? The mobile library will be equipped with Wi-Fi too!

The library had to end services in 2003 on the last bookmobile, but community efforts will hopefully make this version more sustainable. Funds for the current mobile library were raised from grants, donations, and various community organizations.

The mobile library will be rolling out to each ward in Quincy for ribbon-cutting ceremonies in April. Find out when they will be in your ward here! And in May, every school in town is going to get a visit so kids of all ages have a chance to visit. But the mobile library is not just for kids, as the team will be making stops at senior living establishments and special events throughout the year. Keep an eye on our calendar to see where the mobile library will be during the week!

You will still need a valid QPL library card to borrow materials, but nothing says you can't visit to take a look around!
