Program Description

Event Details

November is Diabetes Awareness Month! Diabetes is a chronic disease that touches almost everyone in our society, whether through our own personal experience or that of a loved one.

The prevalence of diabetes is growing at a rapid rate. According to the CDC, 38 million people have Diabetes already, and 97.6 million have pre-diabtes-- and these numbers are expected to continue to grow. A significant number of people don't even know they have it or know that they are at risk!

Knowledge combined with early intervention is the best weapon against diabetes. Want to know more about diabetes and if you are at risk? Join us at QPL for this informational, educational program provided directly by Deb Derhake, RN, a diabetes expert and educator with Blessing Hospital.

We will discuss:

  • What diabetes is
  • The difference between types
  • risk factors and symptoms
  • high and low blood sugars
  • and more

Light refreshments provided.

Now a hybrid program! Can't join us live? Join us on Zoom, instead, from the comfort of your home! Click this link to  attend virtually: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88306201487?pwd=JJl0tHk1BSNlR3yRs4AHNwme2n30WU.1
