Remembering Chuck Norris

Whether it be from the memes or from Walker, Texas Ranger, we all have a frame of reference for Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris was born March 10, 1940 in Ryan, Oklahoma. He served in the Air Force, as an Air Policeman, & was posted in South Korea for part of his enlistment. While in Korea, Norris started practicing martial arts & was able to earn black belts in karate, taekwondo, tang soo do, Brazillian jiu jitsu, & judo. Over the years, Norris won various martial arts championships & open multiple martial arts studios.

Norris was able to parlay these skills into a career in Hollywood - becoming an actor & a fight choreographer for movies. His first big shot at a movie was courtesy of Bruce Lee, in the movie The Way of the Dragon. This was followed by Good Guys Wear Black, A Force of One, The Octogon, Lone Wolf McQuade, Sidekicks, & quick appearances in both Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story & The Expendables 2.

Something a little unexpected, Chuck Norris was also an author. Books that he wrote & QPL also has access to are: The Secret Power Within: Zen Solutions to Real Problems, Against All Odds: My Story, Black Belt Patriotism: How to Reawaken America, The Official Chuck Norris Fact Book: 101 of Chuck's Favorite Facts & Stories.

Norris suffered a medical emergency while in Hawaii & was hospitalized. He passed away on March 19th, 2026, as a result.
