Renaissance Readers meet at 10:00 am on the second Tuesday of each month.

This month's book selection is Drive Your Plow over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarezuk.

Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead follows Janina Duszejko, an eccentric and reclusive woman living in a remote Polish village, who becomes convinced that animals are avenging the deaths of local hunters. As bodies begin to surface, Janina—armed with her deep knowledge of astrology and fierce commitment to animal rights—launches her own investigation, despite being dismissed by the police and her neighbors.

Blending mystery, dark humor, and philosophical reflection, the novel explores themes of justice, environmental ethics, and the tension between tradition and radical thought. Olga Tokarczuk crafts a haunting and provocative narrative that challenges our assumptions about morality, sanity, and the natural world.
